Camera con Vista, housed in the 18th-century Palazzo Isolani in the magnificent Piazza Santo Stefano, was born from the creativity of an antiques dealer and an interior designer. Among classical busts and French chinoiserie, guests can enjoy a drink or an evening in their refined underground jazz club.

The venue opened in December 2016 thanks to the idea of ​​Matteo Bonetti and Rebecca Cavallari, an antiques dealer and interior designer respectively, who decided to transform their antiques shop on the ground floor of a historic building, located in one of Bologna’s most beautiful squares, into a bistro with a dandy and cosmopolitan soul, now managed by director Davide De Rose.

The name, Camera con Vista, comes from the first antiques shop they opened, which was, indeed, a small space with a view.

A place with an ancient soul, a reference point for fine drinks and a refined jazz program.

Every object tells a story

To furnish the three rooms, Rebecca and Matteo sought out unique pieces at antique markets, such as the beautiful black lacquered folding screen with mother-of-pearl inlays, a piece of French chinoiserie from the turn of the century, or the classical statue of an Amazon that was part of a Florentine plaster cast gallery from the late 19th century.

The choice of two large convex mirrors and two brass balls gazing from one wall to the other is highly evocative. A quirk Rebecca incorporates in every home she designs, as, according to legend, convex surfaces reflecting each other ward off evil spirits.

Mixology and Cuisine

Camera con Vista’s cuisine strikes a balance between Emilian solidity and international influences, with a drinks list boasting some of the city’s best signature cocktails.

From the La Grande Bellezza cocktail, made with Champagne, Cognac, and Chambord black raspberry liqueur, to Tortellini with Parmesan cream and truffle, the venue is ideal for an aperitif that turns into a fun night.

Camera Jazz Club

The secret of Camera con Vista lies, in fact, just a few steps down into the building’s basement. Connected to the bistro, Camera Jazz Club is a temple of music in Bologna thanks to the fame and experience of its artistic director, Piero Odorici, one of the most iconic European jazz musicians of our time.
